TERMS & CONDITIONS
These Terms & Conditions apply to all painting and decorating services carried out by Alecri Cambridge Decorators ("we", "us", "our"). Accepting a quotation or instructing us to proceed confirms your agreement to these terms.
**1. Quotations & scope of work**
All quotations are free, valid for 30 days, and based on the information and access available to us at the time (usually a visual assessment). The quotation defines the agreed scope of work. Any additional work requested, or required outside this scope, will be treated as a variation and agreed with you before we carry it out.
**2. Deposit & booking**
A 20% deposit is required to secure your booking and confirm your date. This covers initial scheduling and preparation and confirms your commitment to the work. Dates are not confirmed until the deposit is received.
**3. Payments**
The remaining balance is due on completion of the work, prior to handover, unless we've agreed otherwise in writing. For larger jobs we may agree staged payments in advance. We accept [bank transfer / cash / other]. We reserve the right to follow up on overdue payments.
**4. Condition of surfaces**
Our pricing assumes surfaces are in a reasonable, expected condition. We are not responsible for underlying issues such as damp, structural defects, or previous poor workmanship. Where such issues require extra preparation, we'll discuss and agree any additional cost with you before proceeding.
**5. Materials**
We use quality, professional-grade materials suitable for each job. Materials may be included in your quote or charged separately, as agreed. Please confirm colour choices before we begin — we can't be responsible for dissatisfaction with a colour once it's been applied as chosen.
**6. Access & preparation**
Please provide clear, safe access to all work areas on the agreed dates. We protect floors, furniture and fixtures with professional coverings, but we recommend you remove valuable or delicate items beforehand.
**7. Snagging & completion**
Please report any snagging items within 14 days of completion. Where these relate to our workmanship, we'll return within a reasonable timeframe to put them right at no extra cost. Damage caused after completion — by other trades, occupants, or external factors — is not covered and would be chargeable.
**8. Other trades**
We are not responsible for damage, delays or defects caused by other contractors. Any remedial work needed because of third-party activity will be treated as additional work.
**9. Delays**
We aim for a fast turnaround, but we are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, such as weather (particularly for exterior work), material availability, or other trades.
**10. Liability**
All work is carried out with reasonable skill and care. We hold public liability insurance. Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

**12. Agreement**
These terms form the agreement between us and the customer for the work quoted, and the version that applies is the one in place when you accept your quote.
**13. Governing law**
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
